The film follows the life of Quezon from a soldier, to a lawyer, to a senator, to eventually becoming the president of the commonwealth of the Philippines in 1935. His tumultuous presidential campaign against President Emilio Aguinaldo shows his brand of politics that still influences Philippine politics today.
