The excitement is building across Texas as the Philippine Student Association (PhilSA) at Texas A&M University prepares to host the much-anticipated 35th anniversary of the GoodPhil Games. This year’s event, a cherished tradition that unites schools from across the state, will take place from Friday, March 7th, to Monday, March 10th, 2025. GoodPhil is not just a competition; it’s a journey of friendship, school spirit, and cultural pride as schools come together to compete in sports and performances, culminating in unforgettable memories.
The GoodPhil Games have become a landmark event for the Southern Intercollegiate Filipino Alliance (SIFA) and are an embodiment of the teamwork and unity found within the Filipino-American community in Texas. For 35 years, students have eagerly worked toward this moment—bonding with their peers, supporting their teams, and finding new avenues to celebrate Filipino culture every step of the way.
This year’s four-day event is packed with excitement, starting with indoor sports competitions on Friday, March 7th such as basketball and volleyball. After the first day of competition, there will be a Kickoff Party at Shiner Park, where all the schools will come together to let loose after a day full of adrenaline and good-natured rivalry. The sports competitions will continue on Saturday and Sunday, March 8th and 9th, showcasing incredible talent and sportsmanship from student-athletes. Teams will compete in various sports, building camaraderie and pushing each other to reach new heights.
The grand finale of GoodPhil 2025 will take place on Monday, March 10th, at the Legends Event Center with the Closing Ceremony. This momentous occasion will feature performances in three dance categories: Spirit, where each FSA shows both their school and Filipino pride through a scripted and themed performance; Cultural, where different dance styles of Filipino culture are showcased; and Modern, which fuses together dance styles from past and present to create something uniquely special for GoodPhil. These performances will highlight the creativity and talent of the competing schools and the deep cultural ties that make GoodPhil so special. After the performances, the winners in both the Dance and Sports categories will be announced, followed by a special guest performance from the incredibly talented artist grentperez. Known for his smooth blend of soul, R&B, and pop, grentperez's performance will be the perfect finale to this year’s celebration. His music promises to elevate the energy of the Closing Ceremony and and attendees will be left with a memorable experience that will follow them long after the competition is over.
