Los Angeles, CA — April 28, 2025 — After drawing over 10,000 attendees last year, Baryo HiFi returns for its second annual celebration on Saturday, May 3, 2025, transforming Historic Filipinotown into a vibrant street festival spotlighting Filipino culture, community, and creativity.
“In light of the tragedy at the Lapu Lapu Festival, we stand with our Filipino Canadian community. As we prepare for Baryo HiFi, we’re taking extra steps to ensure a safe, welcoming space for all. Now more than ever, it’s a time to gather, uplift, and celebrate one another,” says Jennifer Taylor, Co-Founder of Baryo HiFi and Fil-Am Community Leader.
This free, grassroots event is made possible by the local Historic Filipinotown community, the City and County of Los Angeles, the collective efforts of local creatives and the generous support of key partners including Jo Koy, Nike, Mama Sita’s, SoundCloud, Pili Ani, and TFC.
The festival features a multigenerational music lineup that bridges generations of Filipino talent, with performances by VST & Co, the queen of OPM Pops Fernandez, MYX-gen artist, Kiana V, and next-gen Filipino-American artists including P-Lo, Guapdad 4000, Yeek, Noodles, and SOSUPERSAM.
The expanded food offering will spotlight acclaimed Filipino-American businesses such as San Diego’s Animae, led by James Beard nominee Chef Tara Monsod, and beloved vegan bakery San & Wolves. The marketplace, curated by Sari Sari Studio and Mayumi Market, will feature a diverse mix of food, crafts, and community vendors. Additionally, guests can shop new and vintage apparel curated by Buttery Pat and Tried & Trued Co, bringing together Filipino streetwear, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind finds.
Presented by Nike, “Working Overtime,” is a multidisciplinary art exhibit curated by Kristofferson San Pablo that explores Filipino artistry through the lens of basketball—the Philippines' most beloved sport. The show reflects themes of hustle, endurance, resilience, community, and the pursuit of greatness, celebrating how culture and sport intertwine both on and off the court.
“As Filipinos, we’re often the ones working behind the scenes—whether in entertainment, healthcare, or hospitality. We’re the backbone of so many industries, but rarely in the spotlight,” says Stephanie Ramos, Co-Founder and Marketing Consultant. “With Baryo HiFi, we wanted to change that and create a platform where our community could be seen, celebrated, and centered—on our own terms.”
“Everyone volunteered their time, talents, and resources to make this happen,” adds Miles Canares, Co-Founder and Event Producer. “This isn’t a corporate event—it’s a grassroots movement built by and for the community. That’s what makes it powerful.”
From live performances and cultural workshops to family-friendly programming and community storytelling, Baryo HiFi '25 invites all generations and all backgrounds to gather in celebration of Filipino identity, heritage, and creative expression.
