The Balisong takes center stage on “From Batangas to The Bay” Exhibit

SAN FRANCISCO, October 17, 2022 – In celebration of Filipino-American History Month, the San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center is proud to present Kultura Ng Balisong’s “From Batangas to the Bay” – a Balisong Exhibit featuring vintage and modern Batangas-made balisong and a full agenda on the Kultura ng Balisong (KNB).
The official launch event is on Saturday, October 22nd at 6:00 P.M. at the San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center at 814 Mission Street.
Kultura Ng Balisong aims to to preserve the art and culture of the Filipino handmade balisong or butterfly knife.
Learn about the Filipino handmade balisong, the different ways to flip it, and the place where it originated - Taal, Batangas.
Also, discover how KNB is developing different balisong modalities such as the balisong “sayaw” or dance, flow and freestyle, meditation, and therapy, tactical and self-defense, and its connection with Filipino Martial Arts.
All balisong flippers, enthusiasts, and families are welcome. Bring your balisong trainers and come early to flip with Kultura Ng Balisong’s "Batangas to the Bay" exhibit on Saturday, October 22 at 6:00 P.M. The event is free, but attendees should register at www.kulturangbalisong.org
