Kalamansi Collective To Host Kalamansi Chats In Celebration Of International Women’s Day

TORONTO - In honor of International Women’s Day, Kalamansi Collective will host an inspiring panel discussion on March 8th, 2025, featuring six trailblazing Filipina-Canadians who have shattered barriers in their respective fields.
"Kalamansi Chats: Filipinas Breaking the Glass Ceiling - The Highs and Lows of Success," will explore the challenges, victories, and lessons learned on the path to leadership and excellence. Through candid conversations, they will share their experiences of resilience, the realities of success, and what it truly takes to break through professional and societal limits.
Kalamansi Chats will include the following inspiring Filipina-Canadians:
● Dr. Eileen de Villa, Former Medical Officer of Health for the City of Toronto
● Abby Albino, Founder of Makeway and Rise Tribe
● Marivel Taruc, Award-winning journalist & Executive Producer of CBC News Toronto
● Mary Ann Gamboa, Commercial Director, Four Seasons Hotel Toronto
● Erika Casupanan, Winner of Survivor 41 and Award-Winning Podcaster
The panel will be moderated by Sam East, Host of 99.9 Virgin Radio Toronto.
In line with celebrating the successes of Filipina-Canadians, Kalamansi Chats will take place at Casa Manila (879 York Mills Road), owned and operated by Mila Nabor-Cuachon, who took over the restaurant over 10 years ago.
“Our goal is simple and it’s to amplify the voices of Filipina-Canadians who have paved the way for future generations,” said Kris Pangilinan, founder of Kalamansi Collective. “By sharing their journeys—the struggles, triumphs, and everything in between—we hope to inspire and empower others to chase their own ambitions fearlessly.”
Each ticket will include a traditional brunch served by Casa Manila. Additionally, proceeds from the event will be donated to Canadian Women’s Foundation, supporting women throughout Canada by advancing gender equality & fund programs to help women girls & gender-diverse people.
