Jollibee added a dash of Spanish flair to the classic Pinoy brand through Jollibee’s first restaurant in Spain, which will open its doors to the public by the end of September. The vibrant colors and island-inspired store design, although a departure from the classic Jollibee colors, retained the signature Pinoy restaurant’s essence through its logo and menu.
Jollibee’s first branch in Spain is located at Calle Arenal, Puerta Del Sol, Madrid. It has a seating capacity of 180 guests indoors, has available outdoor seating, digital kiosks for transactions, a take-out collection area, and hand-washing stations. It also has very high ceilings at the dining hall to accommodate a full-sized palm tree, the focal point of the store’s design.
It is the first of many Spanish locations set to open, as JFC is planning to spend €10 million to fund its expansion in the European country.
Jollibee’s expansion to Europe is set to roll out until the end of 2025 with 50 new Jollibee branches opened in the region. The brand has previously opened its first restaurant in Cardiff, Wales, and its sixth UK location. Alongside its expansion, Jollibee is also strategically redesigning its branding and menu to better cater to various regions globally.
Bur fear not. If you’re a Filipino or a diehard Jollibee fan, the Pinoy brand ensures that its iconic food items remain a staple in its menus across the globe. Alongside a few additions catered to local taste, the Chickenjoy, Jolly Spaghetti, and Peach Mango Pie remain favorites in Jollibee’s international menu offerings.
Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) currently has 5,815 branches under 17 brands in 44 countries. It aims to open 450 new stores across the globe this year as well.
