SAN FRANCISCO, OCTOBER 19, 2023 - ABS-CBN Sagip Pelikula is honored to be part of the 30th anniversary of the Filipino Arts & Cinema International (FACINE), the longest-running festival of Filipino films in the diaspora.

#FACINE30 presents a tribute to the late Marilou Diaz-Abaya, the most awarded female director in Philippine cinema, with back-to-back screenings of  the documentary "Marilou Diaz-Abaya: Filmmaker on a Voyage" and one of Abaya’s most important films - "Moral".

“Marilou Diaz-Abaya: Filmmaker on a Voyage”, 87 mins., 2012. English, Tagalog with Closed Captions (CC), in English. An endearing documentary produced and directed by Mona Lisa Yuchengco on the broad impact of Abaya’s work on gender equity and Filipino cinema.

"Moral" is a 1982 masterpiece by two National Artists for Film & Broadcast Arts: Ricky Lee (screenplay), Marilou Diaz-Abaya (director). One of Ms. Abaya’s most powerful films, is the second in a loose trilogy of feminist films by Diaz-Abaya and Lee which discusses women's issues, along with Brutal (1980) and Karnal (1983).

You are invited to watch this FREE 2-screening event on Sunday, October 22, starting at 1:00 P.M. at the Koret Auditorium inside the San Francisco Main Public Library at 100 Larkin Street.

Admission is FREE. Get free tickets here: https://www.facine.org/project/moral
