PHILIPPINE CONSULATE JOINS WELCOME AND POST-ARRIVAL ORIENTATION FOR FILIPINO TEACHERS

3 July 2025, Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu joined the welcome and post-arrival orientation organized by the Hawaii Department of Education (DOE) for the latest batch of Filipino teachers held last 27 June 2025 at the Honolulu Airport Hotel.

In his remarks, Consul General Arman Talbo welcomed the 82 newly arrived teachers from the Philippines under the Exchange Visitor Program spearheaded by the DOE. The teachers will be assigned to teach in schools in different islands. Lauding the close-knit and welcoming Filipino community in the island state as well as other community supporters, he expressed the hope for the teachers to acclimate well to life in Hawaii and bring pride to the country. He also encouraged them to participate in community engagements and assured them that the Consulate is ready to provide service and assistance, if needed.
Consul Grace Bulos briefed the teachers on the Consulate’s consular and assistance-to-nationals services. The welcome and orientation program also included presenters from non-profit organizations and vendors providing services such as banking, medical, and tele-communications. Representatives from several Filipino-American organizations also introduced their group and activities.
