To some, #BeingFilipino is about being devoted and family-oriented.
Canadians Keri and Andrew McKean met Alma Zafra, a Filipina whom they consider part of their family. Alma takes care of the McKean's two young boys, Alex and Nicolas. But beyond Alma's working relationship with her employers is a profound sense of family and genuine love stemming from both ends.
"She changed our life," says Keri McKean, Alma's employer. "Alma's in my family," she declares with teary eyes when asked about Alma. "I don't think there's enough love anywhere, and in my home, there's no shortage of it."
For Alma, her relationship with the McKeans goes beyond her sense of duty. "I'm not just protective of them, I [also] want to make sure that they are happy," says Alma. "It's always been about family," she adds.
And truly, this family's love and respect for each other radiates through the screen. Alma is clearly well-loved by the the two youngsters, who freely hug and kiss her affectionately.
