Mahigit 200 OFWs mula Qatar, na-repatriate na

Na-repatriate na mula Qatar ang 238 OFWs sa tulong ng DFA, Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA), at ng Philippine Embassy sa Doha (Doha PE).
 
Inaasahang magkakaroon pa ng isang repatriation flight mula sa Doha sa darating na Agosto 31. Ibinahagi ng OUMWA at Doha PE ang update na ito sa kanilang Facebook pages.
 
Lulan ng Philippine Airlines Flight 8685 ang 238 Filipino repatriates. Kasama sana sa flight ang 66 na shelter wards mula sa Doha PE pero hindi natuloy dahil nag-positibo ang mga ito sa COVID-19. 
 
Nakatanggap rin ang repatriates ng cash assistance na USD 200 o nasa PHP 10,000 bilang panimula sa kanilang pagbabalik-bansa. 
 
Sumailalim rin sa karampatang health protocols ang mga repatriates pagdating sa Pilipinas, ayon sa mga guidelines ng Department of Health-Bureau of Quarantine. Sasailalim rin sila sa mandatory quarantine na ipinag-uutos ng Inter-Agency Task Force.

Pahayag ni Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs, Sarah Lou Y. Arriola: “In line with the commitment of the DFA to protect the welfare and well-being of Filipinos overseas, we welcome home this morning 238 distressed OFWs, who have sought repatriation assistance from the Department. The DFA acted decisively and brought them home.”
